Breaking News: UNAccc Haryana State Wing Organizes State-Level Youth Event
The Unity of Nations Action For Climate Change Council (UNAccc) Haryana State Wing is set to host a significant state-level youth event in collaboration with “My Bharat,” a Government of India initiative. The event revolves around Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative “Ek Ped, Maa ke Naam,” aiming to promote environmental awareness and tree plantation.
Objective:
The event aims to inspire Haryana’s youth and school students to take an active role in environmental conservation. By participating in tree plantation and awareness activities, they will contribute to a greener future and develop a sense of responsibility towards the environment.

Venue: District Centers in Narwana, Jind, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Sonipat, and Rohtak
Background:
The “Ek Ped, Maa ke Naam” initiative was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on World Environment Day 2024. The campaign encourages citizens to plant trees in honor of their mothers, promoting a symbolic gesture of gratitude and environmental stewardship ¹.
Empowering the Youth:
By engaging with the youth, UNAccc Haryana State Wing and “My Bharat” seek to foster a sense of community and environmental responsibility. This event aligns with the government’s efforts to promote sustainable development and climate action.
Event Highlights:
– Tree Plantation Drive: Participants will engage in a mass tree plantation effort, symbolizing their commitment to the environment.
– Speech Competition: Students will showcase their oratory skills, expressing their thoughts on the importance of tree plantation and environmental conservation.
– Oath for Tree Planting Awareness: Participants will take an oath to spread awareness about the significance of tree plantation among their families, villages, districts, and states.
