The Unity of Nations Action For Climate Change Council (UNAccc) Haryana State Wing is set to host a significant state-level youth event in collaboration with “My Bharat,” a Government of India initiative. The event revolves around Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative “Ek Ped, Maa ke Naam,” aiming to promote environmental awareness and tree plantation.

Objective:

The event aims to inspire Haryana’s youth and school students to take an active role in environmental conservation. By participating in tree plantation and awareness activities, they will contribute to a greener future and develop a sense of responsibility towards the environment.

 Venue: District Centers in Narwana, Jind, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Sonipat, and Rohtak

Background:

The “Ek Ped, Maa ke Naam” initiative was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on World Environment Day 2024. The campaign encourages citizens to plant trees in honor of their mothers, promoting a symbolic gesture of gratitude and environmental stewardship ¹.
